West Yellowstone is going back to its Roots and bringing back the Yellowstone Fall Training Camp. We will focus our efforts on providing “First Tracks” for Nordic Skiers in November. Thanksgiving week will be all about skiing! Due to the pandemic and economic factors we will no longer host the Yellowstone Ski Festival and the variety of off-snow activities included. We will provide groomed skiing, clinics, Biathlon and a FIS race (weather permitting) for all to enjoy. Look to our website, Facebook page (@RendezvousSkiTrails) or Instagram (YellowstoneSkiFest) for continued updates.
Email: info@skirunbikemt.com with questions or call Freeheel & Wheel 406-646-7744 WE WILL GROOM ON THE SOUTH PLATEAU TRAILS ON FRIDAY FOR SKIING SATURDAY MORNING 11/23. SKATE LANE AND CLASSIC TRACK SET. WE EXPECT TO HAVE 12-15km GROOMED (CONDITIONS DEPENDENT) BUT WILL UPDATE LATE FRIDAY EVENING. 11/18/2019 Yellowstone Ski Festival Update Good morning! The Rendezvous Trail conditions have deteriorated this week with a lack of new snow. An icy base remains on the interior and with low temperatures and chances for snow we are hopeful the event can take place on trails in town. If no new snow appears we will move forward with plans to hold events on the South Plateau Snowmobile Trail which are higher elevation. This trail currently has a decent base with a few bare spots on south facing aspects but north facing aspects are still good skiing. Conditions can change very quickly for the positive with minimal snow so please cross your fingers, pray or do your snow dances! All indoor and off-snow Ski Festival activities will happen regardless of snow conditions. Let’s kick off the Nordic Season together in West Yellowstone! Supertour Live Timing Links 12/02/2018

Dear Skiers, We're just a few days away from the FIS/US Ski & Snowboard 5k/10k on Saturday, November 24. Now is the time to check and double check that all your licenses are entered correctly and are active. US Ski & Snowboard and FIS are taking a stance of “racer responsibility” to make sure they have entered correct data. In adherence to this policy, YSF will be doing the following: - Release a registration roster on Thursday, November 22 for all athletes and coaches to check the entered information. - Allow athletes, coaches, or parents to edit the information until Friday, November 23 at 3:00pm All licenses must be entered and active by 3:00pm or the athlete will not receive a race bib. - Produce a preliminary start list for the Coaches'/Team Captain Meeting on Friday, November 23 at 5:30pm As this is the first year with this procedure, here is a jump start. Attached is an affiliation list of all registrations (as of Monday, 11/19 at 10:00pm).
Sincerely, Yellowstone Ski Festival Team ![]()
Dear Skiers, Attached is the most up to date (as of 9:30pm Monday) registration roster for the 11/21/2018 Thanksgiving Biathlon race. Please check your information thoroughly. If you need to make edits to your registration, you can edit your own information through Events.com until Tuesday at 12:00pm (NOON). Sincerely, Yellowstone Ski Festival Team
Trails update for Monday:
The South Plateau Road from the Rendezvous Trails will be open for skiing. Please access the road only through the trailhead arch (we need to know our skier attendance for getting grooming funds!) The road is closed to all skier-vehicles. Idaho is open snowmobile traffic, so be careful. Hunter and wood cutter traffic has access as needed. The plan is to smooth, but not groom, the upper portion of the road in case we need to plow it for vehicular access later in the week. Whiskey trail is still pretty boney in spots with obsidian rocks and sand showing. We will do our best to set classic tracks on portions of the trails after the upper parking lot. Starting at 12:00 pm 11/19 the middle section of the 5km course will close. This is the section from Deja view going down Doug’s Doodle and continuing on Sheppard’s shortcut to the top of Tele Hill. The closure will remain in effect until snow conditions permit us to reopen without compromising the thin snow that we have. We will be adding snow to select locations on Monday and Tuesday to build upon the current base of snow. Thanks for all your support. Do your snow dance, please! |
