Molly joined WYSEF in 2016. She saw being a board member as an avenue to making a personal impact on the larger goal of public lands stewardship. Molly moved to the Greater Yellowstone area in 2000 and has since graduated from Montana State University, enjoyed a career with the National Park Service, and now works for the National Forest Service. She likes skiing the Rendezvous Trails because the trees protect the trails so well from driving wind and blowing snow common on wintery days.
As a Yellowstone National Park employee, at least once per winter, she would snowmobile to Old Faithful for a work assignment. She would then spend the rest of the day skiing. After one especially long and snowy ski, she rested at the visitor center before the 30 mile snowmobile drive home. It was nearly dark, and all visitors were gone. Old Faithful erupted. Molly was mesmerized by the rush of water and steam meeting the densely falling snow. That moment solidified for her that winter is the ultimate season. During downtime, Molly can be found enjoying the outdoors running, biking, skiing, hunting and/or fishing, often with her husband Joe and their 3 dogs. |
